Naughty Rat

Today's Wordless Wednesday post features a short video of Jack. Here he is making sure his furs are looking nice and in order.

Jack was a naughty rat yesterday. It seems like he is usually the instigator of the small scuffles between the two brothers. At least from what I can tell. Last night, I heard a big scuffle in the rat cage with lots of squeaking and screeching and ran over to find Gus high tailing it away from Jack. No injuries to be found, thankfully. They are currently separated until they get over their disagreement.

On top of that, Jack also bit Shiner's ear. I was standing by their cage, petting Shiner when she came up to me and I saw Jack reach out and nip her. I'm not sure if he thought she was food (sometimes I offer treats through the cage bar) or what. He never offers to bite me or the kids and is very friendly, sweet, and outgoing towards us. Shiner is fine by the way. I guess Jack is just a naughty rat boy!

  1. Wow. You have to give Shiner a lot of credit for tolerating naughty Jack nips!

Sorry you had to separate the bros. Bet there's a lot of tales/tails to tell with these two in the future.

    1. Yes! But there was nothing she could have done anyways, as he was safe inside of his cage.
