PetBox Back to School Essentials | August Review and Giveaway

Each month, Shiner receives a PetBox to review as well as one to giveaway to our readers. PetBox is a monthly subscription box for dogs and/or cats that is filled with lots of goodies. Our August PetBox includes many great dog products including a toy, treats, grooming products, and outdoor gear.

We think this month's box is perfect for any doggy's back to school needs. There's a good variety of dog products inside, most of which we have never seen or used before. Take a look for yourself to see everything that we got in our August PetBox.

Be Pawsitive Pizza Party Organic Dog Treats

Lunchtime is one of the most important (and fun) times at school. The Be Pawsitive Pizza Party dog treats we got in our box smell JUST like pizza, but for dogs. Shiner loves them and would be thrilled if I packed them in her lunchbox everyday, I'm sure. Be Pawsitive makes delicious organic dog treats and they also give back by donating their treats to shelter pets in need. Win - win!

Piggy Twizzies

For school snacktime, Shiner got Piggy Twizzies in her August PetBox. We have not seen Twizzes before, but Shiner loved hers. It is an individually wrapped snack made of pork. Twizzies come in different flavors and are made in the USA and are free of any grains, soy, gluten, dairy, artificial flavors, artificial colors, and artificial ingredients. Great for dogs with allergies. I was a little surprised by how hard this treat was. Shiner had no issues chewing it up however, and I'm sure it would last a very long time with a smaller dog.

For Dirty Dogs Dry Shampoo

At school, of course every doggy wants to look and smell their best without having to take a wet bath everyday. For that, we received a jar of dry shampoo made by For Dirty Dogs. Yes my doggy friends, you heard that right - NO water necessary! This dry shampoo comes in a powder form and you just rub some into the fur and skin. It's good for use in between baths and it deodorizes and removes excess oil and dirt from your dog.

Alcott Adventure Bowl

Every dog is bound to get thirsty after playing at recess or studying hard all day long. For good hydration, Shiner's August PetBox included an Alcott Adventure Bowl. It's a collapsible water bowl that is perfect for traveling or outdoor adventures (like a field trip!). It easily fits in a backpack, purse, and can even snap around your dog's leash. Shiner was happy to have a nice long drink after her exhausting PetBox photo shoot.

Clean Paws Doodie Bags

Just like humans wash their hands after going to the bathroom, dogs should have their humans #ScoopThatPoop after they go to the bathroom. We got a box of Clean Paws Doodie Bags this month. They are made with 50% post-consumer recycled plastic and are lemon scented. Be sure to keep your playground nice and clean!

Pawtastic Fleece Chew Toy

Make recess fun with a good toy! Shiner always loves getting a toy in her monthly PetBox. This month's toy is pawtastic! It's a durable braided Pawstastic Fleece Chew Toy and apparently it's lots of fun to play with. Shiner has not played with it for very long, but this toy is still alive. I think it will last us quite a while too.

As a PetBox Spokesdoggy, Shiner always has a special discount code for our readers. You can save 10% on your subscription to PetBox with the special code "PAWSITIVELY". Visit www.getpetbox.com to order yours. They are available for BOTH dogs and cats.

PetBox now offers several different subscription options with many different price ranges. All subscription plans have free shipping and range in prices from $9.95/month to $39.95/month.

  7. I've never tried a shampoo like that. The treats would all be a big hit here, and the dog bowl is awesome. And of course poop bags, can never have enough of those. I don't know how well a fleece toy would last, but I know Laika would love to find out. That's a good cache of loot.

  35. Well....I have lots of pets...including eight dogs, three of which are rescues.... My rescues are a long hair chihuahua, a pit bull and a sheltie and the others are all shelties... The main way we spoil them, in addition to lots of love and cuddles Is with their favorite treats and chews and toys. They all love trying to new things, new treats, new toys, new chews, etc.... Our dogs are like our kids.... We have numerous other rescue animals and while we have a full house, we wouldn't have it any other way.... Thanks for the Chance to win, my dogs would be thrilled.
