Cat vs. Stuff

Over the past few months, Callie's been settling in nicely. She's been showing us how playful and fun she is. While she doesn't have a huge toy collection just yet, she doesn't mind playing with everyday things sometimes.

I love taking videos of Callie, because she's a very funny cat. Today, I present to you a sort of mini movie day with a few videos. We shall call it "Cat vs. Stuff". A couple of different things Callie likes to play with.

First of all, one of Callie's most favorite things to "attack" is my hand. Usually, if I begin to pet her she will start licking my hand. That gradually turns into play biting, grabbing, and maybe even a little bunny kicking. Don't worry - no humans were injured in the making of our first video. She's pretty gentle and harmless. (But don't tell her I said that!)

Video One: Cat vs Human Hand

You'll notice in our first video that Callie is laying on top of something. That is her blue tissue paper laced with catnip. She loves paper!

While shopping at Wal-Mart one day, I cam across catnip bubbles. They were only 99 cents and so I couldn't resist buying a tiny little bottle. They don't seem to have the same effect on her that regular catnip does, but it was fun playing with them. Although, I'm not sure Callie knows what to think of her catnip bubbles.

Video 2: Cat vs. Catnip Bubbles

Over the weekend, I had a bunch of random objects out on the couch that I needed to use in a video I'm making. (See above photo.) As soon as I put them down, Callie ran over and sat on top of everything. There was a plastic ziploc baggy involved, so maybe that's what lured her in so quickly.

One of the items on the couch was a dog treat bone. Callie started playing with the bone - and quite ferociously I might add. I didn't think she'd eat it, but after she was done playing with it that's exactly what she did...

Video 3: Cat vs. Dog Bone

What battles will Callie encounter next? My top guesses are yarn string, pipe cleaners, and human feet. Coming soon to a theater near you!

  1. Love the videos! Callie is so gorgeous.........Sammy does the hand thing as well but I must admit, my skin is very fragile and I almost wind up with one bandaid at LEAST! Sam also adores tissue paper - always has...........these days he just sits or lies on it but back when he was a youngster he'd really tear it up and get under it and have a blast. The bubbles were a "no go" for him too - he was a bit "intimidated" by things flying near him!!!

    Hugs, Pam

    1. Aw Sammy! Callie will also just kind of sit on the tissue paper. Unless I start rustling it around and then she might get a little playful with it.

    1. Yep - she is great, Caren! I'm wondering if the bubbles are not very potent... they don't seem to have a catnip effect on Callie. My youngest daughter likes them though! Lol

    1. Go Dai$y! Someone has to keep those human hands under control... The dog bone was a milk-bone, so I'm not sure what flavor that is...
