Slow Cooked Cat Food Process and an #InspiredbyCrafted Giveaway

This post is sponsored by Hill’s. I am being compensated for helping spread the word about Hill’s® Ideal Balance® CRAFTED, but Pawsitively Pets only shares information we feel is relevant to our readers. Hill’s Pet Nutrition, Inc. is not responsible for the content of this article.

For the past few months, our cat has been enjoying the new Hill's® Ideal Balance® Crafted cat food. The food is prepared in small batches, made the way you would at home. If I had the time and the knowledge to cook for my pets, I probably would. However, I choose to leave that to the experts.

I had the opportunity to learn more about the slow cooked cat food process that Hill's uses in it's new Ideal Balance Crafted dry cat food formulas. Here's a look at how my cat's food is crafted from start to finish:

  • Hill's uses thoughtfully sourced ingredients to create unique and flavorful recipes for your cat.
  • Next, the ingredients are carefully mixed together and then added to the dough to be cooked.
  • The dough is cooked gently at 250 - 300 degrees to lock in flavor and nutrition.
  • The cat food is cut into crispy, custom shaped pieces of kibble.
One of the coolest things about the new Hill's Ideal Balance Crafted cat food is the shape that it comes in. These new, unique custom shapes were created to please the most finicky of felines. It is an innovation that is the result of many years of Hill's research with pets to understand the important impact of texture and shape in improving palatability for cats.

All of Hill's Ideal Balance Crafted products are made in the US with only natural ingredients and NO corn, wheat, or soy. They also offer grain-free varieties of pet food if that's what you prefer.

Callie appreciates the extra effort that Hill's has taken to make her Ideal Balance Crafted cat food as delicious and healthy as can be. She tried her paw at cooking a time or two, but has now decided that this is better left to the professionals. (Although, she is darn good at making biscuits!)

Hill's Ideal Balance is now on shelves at your local pet specialty retail stores as well as online at Amazon. This food is available in dry and wet formulas for cats and dogs, as well as treats for dogs. Just take a look around and you're sure to find it!
