Pawsome Pet of the Week - Fleury the Rabbit

This week, I have a very Pawsome Pet to share with you all. He's not a dog or cat, but a rabbit! His name is Fleury and he is a 3 year old male Tan. A Tan rabbit is a breed, and not a color in this case.

Fleury lives in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania with his humans and is actually named after a player in the Pittsburgh Penguins. And what makes Mr. Fleury so pawsome?
"I was my human parents' first introduction into the world of bunnies.  I taught them the bunny basics and made them the bunderful bun parents they are today!"
Fleury's favorite activity is "destroying everything he gets his paws on". He also enjoys eating tasty Craisins as his favorite snack. Fleury apparently has a bit of attitude and claims that it is his favorite thing about himself. He's a pretty talented rabbit too, and can jump over his 4 foot high exercise play pen.

Fleury most certainly is a lucky bunny. He was not supposed to live for a very long time, but his humans saved him.
"I was a breeder bunny that should have been culled – me and my two siblings were purchased by our parents when we were still babies.  I was not show material but mom & dad loved me anyways!  I am still best friends with my sister, Sidney, and my brother, Tanger!  We are all named after the top players of the Pittsburgh Penguins!"
Fleury's mom, Sandra, writes a blog called The Bunny Chick. She shares a lot of good information on rabbits and their care. You can also find The Bunny Chick on Facebook. Stop by and say hello!

We'll see you back here next Friday for another Pawsome Pet of the Week!

  1. Fleury looks like my Boo who I had in the 90s!! Awww! I'm sure Fleury's owners know that hair balls are a big danger for bunnies and are making sure he gets lots of fiber. Hugs to Fleury!

  2. Okay, Bailie and I are all about wabbits, but I'm shocked as Mom says Fleury looks like a chocolate wabbit. I never knew she saw wabbits as food. She did also say he is absolutely gorgeous and she would love to feel his soft velvety looking furs. She used to have pet wabbits when she was a kid. Thanks for introducing this wabbit.

  9. What a beautiful bunny. I have had many bunnies over the years, the last one lived to be 13 which is quite old for a bun.

  10. Nice to meet Fleury. TW’s old neighbors used to have bunnies which TW liked except when they got into her yard and ate the plants. Pop called the bunnies “Gloves” for some strange reason.

    1. Oh no! We have lots of wild bunnies around here. My dad does not like them very much, because well... it's a nursery! I'm sure they like to eat his plants too.
