PAW5 Rock 'N Bowl Puzzle Feeder for Dogs Makes Meals More Exciting

In order to stay healthy, dogs need several components in their lives. Food, exercise, love, and mental stimulation, to name a few. Today, I'm talking about mental stimulation combined with food. Dogs love food. Meal time is my dog's favorite time of day. By combing food with fun games, I am able to offer mental stimulation to my dog.

Imagine how boring it might be to sit on the couch all day doing nothing. (I'd probably sleep a lot if it were me.) Dogs might do the same - sleep a lot. Or they may try to make their own fun by causing trouble in the form of destruction. Dogs do need to get out and play daily but there are ways you can help keep them busy when they are inside.

This post is sponsored by PAW5. Pawsitively Pets only shares information we feel is relevant to our readers. All opinions expressed here are our own.

The PAW5 Rock 'N Bowl Puzzle Feeder allows dogs to use their natural behaviors and instincts to turn meal time into an enriching, rewarding, and fun challenge. The design is similar to a regular bowl, allowing you to pour dry kibble directly into the top. The small holes on the top funnels the food to a compartment below. Dogs must paw and nudge at the bowl to knock the rest of the food out, creating a fun game out of meal time.

The bowl comes apart easily for cleaning and is diswasher safe. The PAW5 Rock 'N Bowl is made in the USA with BPA and phthalate-free plastics. It can hold up to four cups of food and is currently available in blue and orange colors.

Shiner can be a little slow on figuring out puzzle feeders sometimes. I usually have to end up showing her how it works, but in the end she gets the idea with some help. At first, she didn't understand that food was coming from the holes in the side of the PAW5 Rock 'N Bowl. She understands now and has figured out how to get all the food from her bowl. You can watch Shiner's first time trying the bowl in the video below.

I also tried the PAW5 Rock 'N Bowl with my brother's dog, Farrah. Farrah figured it out very quickly!

Both dogs are fast eaters, especially Farrah. Shiner has slowed down some on her eating speed as a senior dog. Not only does the PAW5 Rock 'N Bowl offer mental stimulation for dogs, it can considerably help slow their eating speed down. If your dog is a fast eater, this bowl is a good option.

And while the bowl is not designed for cats, my kitten sure does get a kick out of it. If Shiner ever leaves any kibble in the lower compartment, you can find him working to get it out.

If you are looking for a new way to add enrichment and mental stimulation to your dog's life, the PAW5 Rock 'N Bowl is perfect.

  11. i have one and my 2 younger girls love it. i use it to put treats in when i leave the house. however, the youngest, now 6, is really the only one of the 3 that can figure it out. all of the treats are gone by the time i get home. would love another one for the oldest gal. she has tried but since she is almost blind it is sort of hard for her, but she tries.
