Share the Love Valentine's Day Fundraiser

There are so many creative pet bloggers out there who come up with great ways to help out pets in need. Many pet blogs that I visit have come up with interesting ways to fund-raise for animal rescues and charities. This has always been particularly inspiring for me, but I've never been able to come up with any fundraising ideas myself -- until a few weeks ago.

I sparked an idea  that has inspired me to start a Valentine's Day fundraising project. I've decided to call it the "Share the Love" project. On Valentine's Day, people give candies, flowers, and cards to their loved ones to show them how much they care. This Valentine's Day, I would like to offer my readers the chance to be able to help out a pet rescue or charity that they care about. Here are the details...

From now until February 11th, 2013, you can donate $1 (US Dollar) towards the Share the Love fundraiser. In return, I will make you a Valentine's Day graphic/card with your pet on it. So not only will you be donating for a good cause, you also get something in return!

Wondering which charity will receive the funds when it's all done? That's the even better part! After the fundraiser is over, I will add the names of everyone who purchased a Valentine's Day graphic into random.org and choose a random name. That person will select their favorite pet rescue or charity and all of the proceeds will be sent off to them!

If you would like a Valentine's Day graphic and a chance to win a donation for your favorite pet rescue, you can donate your dollar at the Chip-In HERE or at the bottom of this post. Please leave a comment telling me that you've donated and which pet you want to be included on your graphic. Also, leave the name of the charity you want the funds to go to should you win.

If you want a certain picture to be included on the graphic, you can email me at annstaub at yahoo dot com. Any super special instructions can be emailed as well. Otherwise, I can find an image on your blog or facebook page. Please make sure I'm able to find your blog easily!

Good luck to everyone! I am excited to host Share the Love as my first fundraising project! Thanks for your participation.

Here are some examples of Valentine's Day Pet graphics I've created with my own critters.

Happy Valentine's Day from Nibblet!

Shiner is sending her love your way!

  2. I think this is a really great idea! Kudos to you! I donated $2 because I want to include BOTH of my boys in one graphic if that is ok.
If you need a photo of them together, let me know.
I am thinking I would like to donate to Backdoor Friends in Farmington Hills Michigan

  4. We gave $2 (in Canadian that is $2.07). Our Lady can't pick who you should do an image of, so you can pick a picture from our blog of Lee, Phod, Baggy or Nin for this project. If we were lucky enough to win we would want the money go to Catahoula Rescue Ontario, cause they rescued both of us.

  11. Excellent idea! I sent in a donation, but, don't have a pet at the moment, so, please just direct the money to wherever it will do the most good. Cheers,

  12. What a pawsome idea! Rather than send flowers or chocolates she couldn't eat, I just contributed $5 as my Valentine's gift to Shiner. You can use any photo of mine that you want, or I'll be happy to email one to you.

If I were to win, I'd like the money to be donated to Odessa Rescue and Rehabilitation in Mechanicsville, VA. (I can send you the address if I win.)

It's really awesome of you to do this!

    your pal,
    Garth

  24. I just donated, Ann. This is such a wonderful idea. I would like one for Freedom (brindle girl greyhound), Casper (white boy greyhound), Nikki (black girl greyhound) & Twinkie (black girl kitty). If you can select pictures from my blog (whatremainsnow.com), that would be great. You can do them together (1 or 2 badges) or individually...whatever you think looks best. If we win, I would like the donation to go to Allies for Greyhounds of West Michigan (afgwm.org). Also, I mentioned your Share the Love fundraiser on my blog today and will do so several more times before the 11th. I probably won't use my Valentine badge(s) until Valentine's day, so no hurry. Thanks, Ann, and it's nice to meet you.

P.S. I heard about the fundraiser on Hailey's blog.

  27. Hi! I found this fundraiser over at Mollie and Alfie's blog! What a good idea. I went and donated 5 but I only need two pictures. One for Princess Gracie and one for Prince Henri. I have to go look at the pictures I have and which two I'd like done and I will email you. Or, maybe I'll make a post, I'll include the two pictures and promote your fundraiser! Thats's what I'll do!

  28. Okay, made a post and left two pictures that have good face pictures! So excited!

  29. I donated 5 dollars, for the 2 kitties I asked for graphics for, Cheese and Asia, as well as for my own kitty, Nina, and in memory of my dog Bear, and his sister, Maggie. So hard to choose a charity or rescue, but my picks would be Best Friends Society, or Big Fluffy Dog Rescue. This is an awesome fundraiser, Ann, thank you!
