Share the Love Fundraiser Results

First and foremost, I want to thank everyone who donated to the Share the Love Fundraiser that I recently hosted. This was my first ever attempt at a fundraiser and the results were far better than I had expected. For a dollar, those who donated received a Valentine graphic featuring their pet(s). I set the ChipIn goal fairly low, as I had no idea how successful the fundraiser was going to be.

Well, let me tell you that it was a huge success! Thanks to everyone's generous donations, we raised exactly $100! The lucky charity that this money will be going to is the Backdoor Friends Purebred Cat Rescue Program. Stephanie Newman from The Musings of a Crazy Cat Lady was chosen randomly as the winner of the fundraiser.

Recently, Stephanie shared the story of Rory the cat on her blog. He had a nasty fall at his foster mom's house and broke his leg. His veterinarian was able to fix his leg, but the surgery and medical bills were about $3000. All of the funds raised from the Share the Love fundraiser will specifically be going to Rory's care.

I hope to share more about the Backdoor Friends Purebred Cat Rescue Program and Rory soon! Thanks again to everyone for donating or sharing the fundraiser. Also, thank you for the kind responses regarding your valentines - I appreciate it.

Happy Valentine's Day!

  7. Congratulations!!! We are quite familiar with Backdoor Friends and they are fabulous. We also live in the same city where they are located. We bought my Angel Bobo's urn there and used to buy tons of cat items there. They are quite deserving!

  11. Dear Ann, this was a lovely fundraiser. I'm thrilled and very honored to have had the chance to choose where the funds go. I can tell you Anne Klein, owner of Backdoor Friends Cat Shoppe and a board member of Backdoor Friends Purebred Cat Rescue is very touched by the generosity of our cat-loving community. Rory is getting better every day and I hope to be posting an Adoptable Cat Of The Week featuring him by the end of next month. Thank you everybody and happy Valentine's Day.
