Nibblet Feels Left Out

In our product review on this past Sunday, you probably noticed that Nibblet has been feeling a bit left out. The dog always gets the chance to test out tasty treats and play with fun toys. The mail is always for Shiner, but never for Nibblet.

Sure, Nibblet does get to sample almost every tasty morsel that Shiner receives. But no one ever asks what SHE thinks about these treats. And she never gets anything that is meant just for her.

Life is tough for a pampered rat these days. Living in a rat mansion filled with only the most premium boxes to chew on and take warm naps inside of. It's hard to get the recognition you so deserve.

She has expressed to me that she feels that she is the cute one around these parts. What do people see in that giant spiky-furred barky dog anyways? Shiner's fur is nowhere near as soft as Nibblet's. And of course, Nibblet is quiet and doesn't disturb that little human baby when she's napping by barking at noises that don't exist.

Nibblet has been considering hiring a new "agent", because apparently I am not giving her enough exposure on this blog and social media. She feels like small pet companies should be lining up and begging her to test their products and pose for pictures in their magazines.

Nibblet's ideas for a magazine.

I try to explain that sometimes, small pets just aren't as popular as dogs and cats. She claims this is poppycock and there's no way those dogs and cats can out-cute her!

Nibblet has been keeping very busy in meetings in her office box brainstorming ways to become a famous little rat. For now, I think she will just have to enjoy sharing some of the dog's treats and the premium cardboard boxes that they come in.

Please check in later, I'm in a meeting right now.

  8. Nibblet we LOVE hearing about you and seeing you. Maybe you can pave the way for some unconventional pets to get some product love :-) Poor Cocco can't sign up for any dog or cat reviews and he's feeling a bit miffed! Nibblet is adorable, makes me want to have a pet rat to scratch :-)

    1. Aw thanks Katie! I am sure Cocco has the same problem sometimes. I bet there are even less mini pig products than there are rat products =/

  11. Oh wow, Nibblet. We never thought about the way the world looks to you when it's so targeted toward cats and dogs for pets. It's too bad this store isn't US based because they have all kinds of special nommies for rat-kind: http://www.ratwarehouse.com/shop_view.php?cat=24

We think you'd make the best spokes-model for them!

    1. Rats are popular moreso in the UK than they are in the US. Which makes sense because that is where the "fancy rat" originated from. Everything looks pawsome on that website!

  12. Sounds like what I told my cat bro Bert last week...stick with the boxes, the treats are mine! Cat, rat, they are not dogs ;) Dogs rule in my canine opinion!

  15. If I recall there was a great small pet giveaway on a BlogPaws chat recently so I think she should try to review products like those! Please keep in mind though, in Chicago rats are not cute, friendly, or pets! Its taken us an adjustment but we think you're adorable too! Love Dolly

    1. Oh yes, Miss CK says she tried to win one for Nibblet. I was only at that pawty at the beginning I think. I am not a fan of the wild rats either Miss Dolly. It's hard to believe but fancy rats are much different and not ugly like those wild ones!

  21. We definitely need more nibblet! I have many friends who have rats and would love to hear what she has to say.

  22. I think that Nibblet is def covergirl material. I love her little box house and rats make awesome pets.

  23. Nibblet would be a great spokes-rat for the small animal community for sure....she is so cute! If anyone was thinking about getting a rat but was unsure I'm sure seeing Nibblet would convince them they could be great pets. I think she's got it pretty good even if she's not getting all the attention she deserves!

  24. I just saw this groovy DIY cat toy over at OhMyDog blog. I suspect it would be a fun game for Nibblet to enjoy, even if it was invented for a cat.
