Scooping Poop Is Part of Responsible Dog Ownership #ScoopThatPoop | Giveaway from Earth Rated

It's time for another monthly #ScoopThatPoop blog hop. This campaign is hosted by Sugar of Golden Woofs along with myself, Oz the Terrier, The World According to Garth Riley, My GBGV Life, and The Lazy Pit Bull. All of us hope to raise awareness that scooping dog poop is part of being a responsible dog owner. February is Responsible Pet Owner Month, so that is our theme for February.

Many of you already know that picking up your dog's poop when you are out walking is the responsible thing to do. What about when your dog poops in your own yard? Do you have to pick that up too?

Well, I don't know about you but I prefer not to step in any brown surprises when I'm out in the yard. Plus, dog poop can have harmful parasites or diseases in it. If you've got kids, scooping your dog's poop out of the yard is a very important task.

I'll admit that scooping Shiner's poop with such a large yard can be difficult. We live on 4 acres of land and I don't always accompany her outside. For the most part, Shiner seems to do her business close to the house so I can easily find stray poops.

One thing I do to help me pick up these stray poop piles is take a few poop bags with me when we go outside to play in the afternoons. If I see any dog poop, I scoop it up! This way, the area that my children play in is poop-free and safe for play without any surprises if you know what I mean.

This month, Shiner wanted to share some advice on how to be a responsible DOG. All you doggies should show this image to your humans!

We know that many of our friends are all snowed in, and may be getting "Frost Fingers" when trying to open poop bags. Our friends at Earth Rated have created a cool new product called Frost Finger Remedy gloves which are specially made to help with the task of opening dog poop bags in the cold winter weather.

We are having a giveaway for this month's #ScoopThatPoop blog hop. Enter the Rafflecopter below and enter to win a pair of Frost Finger Remedy gloves and Earth Rated Poop Bags. Good luck!

  4. I agree sometimes it is hard to find the mines in a large back yard . My staff is everyday on poop patrol in my back yard. ( mostly they can't find it, but always the poop finds their shoes )

  5. I am laughing because I have read so many posts about scooping that I was dreaming about it last night! I am going to have to do a big pick up as the snow melts as the dogs have gone into the deep snow in our yard (they don't sink as much as me) and done some business.

  10. We're so conscience of poop scooping that we've come rather annoying to those who we see that don't. We're loud, we're obnoxious, but we get the job done. We're always "on patrol" in our neighborhood. Harley & Leo

  13. I am guilty of not scooping as often as I should in my own yard. Always on walks but there are times at home when I let it slide for a couple days. Luckily my dogs each have their own corners they poop in, so when I do pick it up it is all in one section.
    Great post!
    Love your collage to!!

    1. I'm sure I'm guilty of the same thing. Like I said, it's hard to find all of the poop with 4 acres! Maybe I need some advice for this!

  14. Hmmm, I NEVER poop in my own yard...never have and not sure I ever will. Hence, Ma is always scooping my poop from the yards of others. It's good to have a clean yard, Miss Ann. So glad you are a fellow scooper!

  30. Dogs really don’t know where to poop and where not to. So it’s a great idea shared by you to collect the poop and then throw it in the dustbin. But while doing so precautions must be taken as it may lead to serious medical issues to you.
