Dog Moms #ScoopThatPoop | Win Prizes from Earth Rated and The Fifth Paw

As a responsible dog mom to Shiner, it's important that I scoop her poop. As a mother to my 2 human children, it's my job to teach them how to be responsible for their pets. I also scoop poop from our yard so they don't step in it or try to play with it.

My 2 year old is a little young to learn the importance of scooping dog poop, but my 9 year old, Lily, is at the perfect age to learn this. As I mentioned before, we have a very large yard and field and I don't always see when Shiner goes poop.

Yesterday on Easter, Lily and I went on a Easter dog poop hunt for stray piles of dog poop during our dog walk around the yard. I personally didn't think it was all that exciting, but Lily on the other hand was getting quite into it.

Dog moms teach their kids to #scoopthatpoop

She asked if she could pick up one of the poop piles, so I obliged. She may as well learn sometime.

We love this graphic of a Dog Mom's anatomy created by Earth Rated. You can win prizes from Earth Rated by sharing your photos of yourself being a dog mom on their Facebook page, on Instagram with the hashtag #dogmoms and tag @earthrated, or on Twitter. They always have great images like this to share and cool contests, so you should definitely be following them.

On another note, we finally got a Fifth Paw to try out in our April PetBox. You can see our review and enter to win a PetBox here. Our friend Sugar is always talking about her Fifth Paw and how pawsome it is, so we were SO happy to see this product in PetBox this month.

Fifth Paw makes it easy to #scoopthatpoop

What is the Fifth Paw? It's a little contraption that secures to a leash and holds dog poop bags for you while you walk your dog. No more carrying around dog poop bags in your hands! We love the Fifth Paw too and think it's a wonderful product.

  1. Huxley's ten-year-old friend and handler, Rose, truly likes to clean up his poop... and it doesn't often all fit in her tiny, bag covered hand! But it is good for her to learn and she is proud of being a good dog friend.

  3. Poopscooping was a job for kids back in the day. My husband even was teased with a nickname - Professor Poopscoop.
Pretty sure that's why the job falls to me now!

  5. Oh Miss Ann, you are the best dog and human mom ever! It is so great to see a mom teach her children to be responsible and clean up after their dog. If only I had neighbors like you. I never see the kids walking their dogs with poop bags in hand (or anywhere else on their person). Bravo!

    1. I was really surprised when she asked if she could pick it up. She acts all silly and grossed out when the human baby poops in her diaper... so I figured she wouldn't want to scoop dog poop either!

  9. I agree with Dolly, its good to spread the word ( and not the poop). Since mom ruined her best shoes forever she is always on poop-patrol. That's really sh*t to ignore the "legacy" of dogs.

But I'm glad you are on top of the situation with info about new stuff...

  21. Seems sort of weird for me to say but poop scooping has become such a way of life for us here in Doodleville, that I don't think about it much anymore. See, isn't that weird?
