The Catmobile and Other Furry Friends

Over the weekend, we went to my oldest daughter's Halloween festival at her school. It's called Trunk-or-Treat and volunteers dress up their cars and give out candy to kids. There are games to play and lots of other fun events to enjoy too.

This car was my personal favorite. I call it the "Catmobile" - move over Batman!

I have no idea why I can't get the photo any larger than this, but so be it.

Also, over the weekend Shiner met a new friend - a baby bunny! We were walking along and she would not budge from sniffing this one spot in the tall grass. I walked over to investigate and found her new little friend.

I couldn't find any sort of nest to return this baby too and he looked pretty scared. I found him a safe spot with cover under some trees nearby. His mom is sure to be somewhere close.

And after our walk, Shiner and I enjoyed playing with some new toys. She beat me at a few games of tug-of-war.

And the Rat Brothers, Jack and Gus, had their cage cleaned again. They seemed pleased with their new collection of boxes and a tasty rat buffet to snack on.

They have been having a few adventures themselves... my two year old daughter has learned that she can open their cage door and set them free. They don't go very far, but I don't want them crawling around the room unsupervised. So I had to find a way to secure their cage doors shut so she can't open them up anymore.

What kind of fun things have you enjoyed recently with your furry family?

  3. Love the catmobile. OMD that baby bunny would have had my peeps screaming at me and all of a panic. Shiner is just so sweet natured. Have a terrific Tuesday.
    Best wishes Molly

    1. Well, it did scare me too! Mostly because the bunny became a little panicked and starting squeaking really loudly. Shiner is good with small animals like this, but she has always wanted to catch one of those larger rabbits lol... she's not very sneaky though.

  4. That's a great halloween car! How sweet that your daughter wants to set the rats free. Hopefully she doesn't learn how to get around your cage security system!

  5. Lots of fun things going on at your place! That dressing up the car thing is a cool idea, I'd never heard of that before. And isn't that baby bunny so adorable...and I love how sweet Shiner was to it!

    1. Most cars there were not as good as this one. There were lots of good ones though. I think Shiner is just used to having those types of animals around. Now, if only I could convince her to act the same way around cats...

    1. Ha! We used to have a cat who was very "good" with the bunnies. Shiner tries to sneak up on them, but she's not very good at it.
