Share Your #PetHappens Photo and Donate $1 to the BISSELL Pet Foundation®

Over the weekend, I walked into my living room to find Shiner running around like crazy with couch pillows and cushions out of place and on the floor. My throw blankets were hanging off the couches all a mess. I was a little surprised at the mess she had made and now I wish I had taken a picture of it.

We all have stories about how messy our pets can be. Every now and then I think they just like to cause a little mischief. Life is just more fun when you can make a nice mess every now and then. 

BISSELL Homecare, Inc. hopes to help pet parents with these occasional messes and help donate money to pets in need with their #PetHappens Campaign. BISSELL invites pet parents to share their photos and stories of messy pets online. 

How can you participate? Just share your messy pet photo and story on Twitter or Instagram with the hashtag #PetHappens. For each photo shared with the #PetHappens hashtag through February 15, 2015, $1 will be donated to BISSELL Pet Foundation®, up to $50,000. That's a lot of money to be raised! 

38% of Americans would add a pet to their home if cleaning up after them were easier. BISSELL hopes to improve this statistic by reducing pet cleanup as a barrier to pet adoption. Each year, BISSELL donates up to $250,000 to the BISSELL Pet Foundation. It's a nonprofit organization committed to supporting groups dedicated to the humane care and treatment of animals through pet adoption, spay/neuter programs, microchipping and foster care.

What photo will Shiner be sharing for #PetHappens? Well, we have plenty of options and it's a shame her most recent mess wasn't captured on camera. Most of Shiner's messes include stuffing and fluff, so I think it's appropriate to use a picture that includes some of that.
