#LongLivePets with Best Friends Animal Society and Nature's Variety Instinct

It's both shocking and saddening to know that each year millions of pets enter shelters and rescues. Sadly, millions of these pets will also be euthanized while in those shelters due to lack of space. These pets are healthy, beautiful, and adoptable but there just simply isn't enough room for them all.

Long Live Pets is a multifaceted campaign that is designed to educate the public about saving the lives of thousands of shelter pets and encourages people to adopt a pet. Nature's Variety Instinct has partnered with Best Friends Animal Society in the Long Live Pets campaign.

Best Friends Animal Society has been working for more than 30 years to help reduce the number of pets killed in shelters. As a leader in the no-kill movement they have national initiatives, local programs, and work diligently though a network of shelters across the country.

Nature's Variety Instinct is now the Official Pet Food Partner of Best Friends Animal Society. They are providing over $650,000 worth of support in 2015. This includes food and cash donations so that rescue dogs and cats can enjoy the high quality nutrition they deserve.

Nature's Variety Instinct and Best Friends Animal Society are excited to announce their exclusive partnership and the launch of Long Live Pets.

To start things off, they are inviting pet parents to join in the creation of an inspiring short film that celebrates the first day in the new life of a rescue dog. Owners of adopted or rescued dogs are invited to submit photos of their rescues at LongLivePets.com to be included in the film!

How cool would that be to see your furry friend as a star on the big screen? Your rescue dog could help encourage others to adopt and save lives.

I submitted a photo of Shiner for the film. Even though she is not from a shelter or rescue organization, I did save her directly from the streets. You can see our photo submission below.

Nature's Variety was nice enough to send over a few bags of Nature's Variety Instinct Raw Boost Munchies. These treats are freeze-dried and chicken flavored, but they do have some other flavors too. They are made with real chicken, grain and gluten-free, include NO corn, wheat or soy, and are made in the USA.

Shiner enjoyed her Munchies very much, as you can probably tell from her photos. Also, Callie the Cat was really interested in eating these treats too. She kept messing with the bag before I even opened them.

  4. They don't appear to be taking any more photos for the film. I wanted to submit Mike, my sweet senior dog (5 year old) that I just adopted in January.

    1. Hmmm, just checked it out for you and I see what you mean. Usually, if you push the arrows in the bottom right corner it will take you to submit the photos. Now, it's just taking me to a blank page though. Maybe it's a hiccup that will work later on =/
