Snapshots on Sunday: Travel

For this week's 52 Snapshots of Life Photo Challenge, the theme is "Travel". I honestly don't travel much. So, I decided to dig deep and time travel to find a photo from the past. The photo is from many years ago when I was a kid and my family traveled to the beach. We always took our dog with us. Pictured is Jenny, our family Shetland Sheepdog.

Those prints in the sand are obviously not hers, but it makes for a kind of cool photo I think.

As for the rest of the week, it's finally decided to warm up - thank dog!!! We've been enjoying some warmer and dryer weather the past few days. Shiner is definitely happy about that.

A couple of boxes came in the mail this week, including one for Callie. It's her first box, and I think she liked it. :) But, we'll be telling you more about that later on.

I've also been discovering some of Callie's quirks here and there. You know, strange or weird things pets do. Sometimes, when you go to pet her head she will give you licks kind of like a dog. I think it's kind of sweet actually, but can't say I've had too many cats that do it.

She also willingly goes inside of her carrier to sleep. Or in this case, play. There are a lot of cats out there who run and hide from their carriers. It's a good thing that she likes it though. We played around for a while until she was ready to quit.

Shiner also got a box from Chewy.com with some goodies inside. She's silly.

Shiner turned into Dogzilla and decided to wreck the toy train town my daughter built. Just kidding, she just wanted to be in the middle of everything and get in the way a little bit. ;)

So anyways, that's a look at our week in photos! Next week, we embark on to Spring Break. What have you been up to?

  4. Spring break...where do we sign up? We haven't had a spring break in years! We don't travel as much as we'd like to either but I think we have a few weekend getaways in the works. Much love, The Scottie Mom.

  5. Time travel...that was a good idea! And that's a great old photo. It's so good to hear that Callie is settling in and showing her personality! Samantha is actually a real licker too....she'd actually rather lick your hand than have you pet her. Though sometimes she'll lick your hand, then rub her head against it....leading me to believe that she's really just using me to wash her head! LOL

  6. We wish we had Spring Break ... it's been a long, long time. :)

We love that Callie's a licker. We have some kitties at the shelter like that ... it's very endearing!

    1. Aww, well don't feel bad. My "adventures" usually involve only the grocery store BOL. But, you still get to enjoy your lark in the park Molly.

  8. We have those trains! We saved them from our son's childhood and now our grandson loves them - and Toby and our granddaughter love to get in the middle just like Shiner! As for Callie, our daughter's cat Chester loves his carrier too because he's very mischievous, and when he gets into trouble and makes our son-in-law mad (like by knocking over the wine rack), that's his safe place!

    1. Yep, my parents saved these. My dad got them out of the shed one day and cleaned them up for my little girl to play with. :)
