Dolly just turned 5 years old on June 15th. As her name states, Dolly is a Dachshund mix. She knows she is part Dachshund, but isn't sure what other dog breed she is mixed with. So, what makes Dolly a pawsome pet? Here's what she had to say:
"I love my mom (a.k.a. The Lady) very much and will do anything to protect her. I am also very sweet and lovable. I love to cuddle and get tummy rubs. But I am lots of fun too and very mischievous."
Dolly enjoys going on walks to the park and eating treats with ingredients like peanut butter or bacon. Or possibly both? Dolly's special abilities include toy surgery and sniffing down food.
"I can take apart a stuffie toy with surgical precision, remove the squeaker in seconds and you wouldn’t be able to tell. I can smell food in the park 100 yards away and know where to find it. And I’ll remember it was there for weeks and keep looking for it again. This is why we have started nose work training."
I think that must be part of her mischievousness showing! A dog has to have fun though, am I right? Dolly also has self confidence and claims that she has a few favorite things about herself.
"I am very cute! Not to mention sweet and lovable."
And like any self-respecting dog, Dolly has a few boundaries of things she will not do. She doesn't like water or wearing clothes, to name a few.
"I hate water, which breaks mom’s heart because she loves it. And I am extremely stubborn which tries mom patience more than you can imagine. I am shy around strangers but once I’ve met you I’ll remember you the next time and be happy to see you. I love snow and cold weather but refuse to wear a coat, and you will never catch me in a Halloween costume or any other holiday attire or cute outfit."
That's OK Dolly - no one wants to be embarrassed later on by silly photos in ugly Christmas sweaters anyways!
We hope to see you next Friday for another exciting edition of Pawsome Pet of the Week! Have a great weekend!
