Hiding From the Vacuum Monster

Shiner has her moments with the vacuum cleaner. She's not scared of it, and occasionally she will stand in front of it and bite it will I try to use it. Most of the time, she does nothing and just ignores it. Especially now that she cannot hear well.

My three year old daughter on the other hand likes to hide from the vacuum cleaner. I guess she thought Shiner's bed was a safe place while I vacuumed the other day.

Looks like a safe place to me! What about your pets? Are they scared of the vacuum monster?

  2. That is such a sweet photo, I love it. Dakota just chases it and barks incessantly at it. Cody isn't "scared" per se, he just usually leaves the room but he doesn't hide.

    1. Sounds like Shiner/Callie. Well, Shiner in the past anyways. She's much better with it now. Callie will come out from hiding to check out what's going on.

  3. Your daughter is afraid of the vacuum monster? Say it isn't so, Miss Ann! At least she knows where to hide. Shiner will protect her from that wretched thing!

    1. Sometimes she is and sometimes she isn't. She used to be terribly horrified of it, but is not THAT scared anymore. She would scream and cry and tremble. I needed a 2nd person to hold her or take her to a different room lol. Now she just "hides" and waits for me to finish. I don't think she's too scared, but maybe it's fun to hide :)

    1. Haha - I wonder if Callie would like to be vacuumed. She doesn't seem to mind the vacuum. Maybe I'll try it one day.

  8. Mine are finally starting to get used to it. They don't run away now, they are just weary of the noise I think.

  10. Katie and the cats are scared of it, but Bailie and I don't mind at all. Mom can vacuum right up to us with no problem and often has to ask us to move.

  13. That is really cute! It looks like your daughter is using Shiner to protect her from the vacuum. :) Cinco and Manna are not big fans of the vacuum. Cinco will run and hide and Manna will find a perch and stare at it intensely .

  14. I guess your daughter figured Shiner knew the best place to hide! None of our dogs like the vacuum, they pretty much steer clear of it. But Cricket is a little less skittish of it than Luke and Sheba. Our beagle Kobi couldn't have cared less about it....you could run him over with it before he would move out of the way!

  16. We hate to admit it, but we're scared of the vacuum...or the rug sucking monster as we call it.

  17. Not a good sign if the daughter hides from the vacuum, you may not be getting any help with the housework someday. Love Dolly

    1. LOL - well, she's the cause of most of my housework right now. She's getting better. My oldest was scared of it too, but then loved to vacuum when she was around 5 years old. She'd start vacuuming and I couldn't stop her when she was younger haha.
