Flea and Tick Protection from Seresto #ChewyInfluencer

We received product from Chewy.com for free. Pawsitively Pets only shares information we feel is relevant to our readers.

While fleas and ticks can be a year round nuisance, they do seem to enjoy the Spring where I live. We don't have a huge tick problem here, but I do find one occasionally. Maybe one or two a year. However, we do have a large flea population much to my dismay. It can get pretty bad and I absolutely have to stay on top of flea control.

I've used several methods of flea control in the past and while trying to decide what I wanted to use this time around for my dog, Shiner, Chewy.com asked if we'd like to try Seresto®. I've used Seresto in the past and it's always worked well, so I am happy to use it again this year for flea and tick protection.

What is Seresto?

Seresto offers easy, effective, non-greasy, 8-month flea and tick protection for dogs in the form of a unique polymer matrix collar. Seresto uses Sustained Release Technology, which continually releases the collar's active ingredients over a period of 8 months. With Sustained Release Technology, the active ingredients are released in low concentrations and are distributed over a dog's hair and skin surface. As the ingredients wear off over time, Seresto will continuously replenish the skin with a new supply of ingredients.

The active ingredients in Seresto are Imidacloprid which kills fleas, flea larvae, and lice and flumethrin which repels and kills adult ticks, larvae, and nymphs.

With 8 months of protection, I do not need to worry about replenishing Shiner's flea and tick medicine every 3-4 weeks. This is a bit more cost effective for me as well.

If you'd like to learn more about Seresto, I've shared a lot about it in the past. You can read this post for more information.

You can find Seresto at Chewy.com along with any other pet supplies you might need. Chewy.com ships out fast and offers free shipping on purchases of $49 and over. Be sure to check out Chewy.com on Facebook and Twitter.

  2. We can't have a collar type protection because of our sports, so it doesn't work for us. Just hate those fleas and ticks and that we have to deal with them.
