The Jackson Galaxy Ground Prey Wand comes with a detachable cat nip toy attachment. You can purchase other attachments for the wand to try out too. The adjustable telescoping wand reaches 32 inches. When you're done playing, just push it down to save space. The string that connects the toy attachment to the wand is thick and durable.
To play with the wand, simply extend it and drag the attached toy across the floor. The toy mimics the movements of ground-based prey.
What do our cats think of the Jackson Galaxy Ground Prey Wand?
Roadside is the big hunter in the house, so I was eager to use this toy with him. He had a blast and loves playing with it every day. My kids also have fun using the Ground Prey Wand to play with him. He will actually chase it in circles and it can be quite amusing to watch. It's great exercise and stimulation for him.
Callie also likes to play with the Jackson Galaxy Ground Prey Wand, but only if Roadside is not around to bother her. She's more of a feather wand kind of girl I think. It's easier for her to sit in one place and swat at those types of toys. She still has a good time with this toy though.
All in all, I'd say this toy is a big hit in our home. It seems to be well-made and durable. I think it would make a great Holiday gift or stocking stuffer for almost any playful kitty.
