I do see a cat every now and then, but they are very fast so I never get a good look at them. It was a difficult task because he was wild but I squirted a sedative in his mouth when he hissed at me and then we anesthetized. Unfortunately he was very, very sick and the doctors decided it would be best to euthanize him. :(AnnStaubhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09386132460741393276noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6382480381687088490.post-22512329874105081812015-10-16T16:45:12.511-05:002015-10-16T16:45:12.511-05:00Same here - I love them! Or at least, their babies became our pets. It seemed like we were always finding kittens somewhere... I have heard of colonies people find where the ferals are so bad off that when they take them to the vet, the vet cannot prevent them from dying. They need our assistance.

Pet lovers please check out my homeless cat blog archives for some fun posts and archived stories about the abandoned/feral cat colony I manage.

Debby in Prescott Valley, Arizona
http://homelesscatcare.blogspot.com/Debra Taylorhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16217766384919468415noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6382480381687088490.post-59754190826958264762015-10-16T11:20:06.758-05:002015-10-16T11:20:06.758-05:00I have such a special place in my heart for commun...I have such a special place in my heart for community cats. We lived in the suburbs while I was growing up and always seemed to have feral cats around, so as kids we helped take care of them. Now my husband and I share our lives with 2 previously feral boys who took up residence in our backyard several years ago. It took a very long time to gain their trust, but we were finally able to bring them inside, and now they are the sweetest, most well-mannered and devoted kitties EVER! We know not all feral cats can be socialized, so we were very happy that everything worked out so well with Trouble and Squirt. Thank you for shining a spotlight on community cats - they belong to all of us, and deserve a chance to live long and happy lives!! In the winter, my hubby built a couple little kitty houses (insulated) which 2 of them sleep in every winter they return! We also feed and water them any time we see them around as well. I know they appreciate it because what were once 100% feral cats, have became much closer to us and are comfortable around us now. :)
ღ husky hugz ღ frum our pack at Love is being owned by a husky!Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17754769598598752012noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6382480381687088490.post-21171978558870379662015-10-16T07:32:51.568-05:002015-10-16T07:32:51.568-05:00We always give the lady who feeds the ferals some ...We always give the lady who feeds the ferals some green papers for food ...
