A little while ago, I entered a contest my friend Garth was having on his blog, The World According to Garth Riley. I ended up winning a cute little plush dog, rightfully named Frosty, and two coupons for free Purina Frosty Paws frozen dog treats. Thanks again, Garth!

Shiner inspecting the new box |
I hadn't been able to find any Frosty Paws during my visits to the grocery store, so I decided to call around to see if any of the pet stores or grocery stores sold them in my area. I wasn't able to find any pet stores that sold them. I didn't get to find out if Wal-mart sold them because I got tired of waiting on the phone for their answer. Anyways, I finally found them at a store called H-E-B which is a grocery store here in Texas.

Shiner with her box of ice cream |
The treats came in a package of 4 with a choice between 2 flavors. I selected the peanut butter flavor. The treats look like real human ice cream! And they didn't really smell like anything. I was tempted to taste it, but I withheld the urge. I knew that Shiner would devour the little paper cup that the ice cream came in, so I scooped it out into a bowl for her.
I liked these treats because they actually occupied Shiner for more than a couple of seconds. She's not much for savoring her snacks and usually gulps them down pretty quickly, no matter how chewy they are. I also don't need to worry about her chewing Purina Frosty Paws since there's nothing to chew. Although my treats were free, they were priced pretty inexpensively.

Shiner gives Purina Frosty Paws 2 paws up! |
She loved the Purina Frosty Paws! She nosed the bowl of doggy ice
cream around the kitchen for at least 5 minutes, trying to get every
last drop out of the bowl. She gives it 2 paws up!

what a lovely prize glad Shiner love it
ReplyDeleteExcellent review! So glad Shiner likes Frosty Paws! In Virginia, I can find Frosty Paws in several chain grocery stores, but we've never looked for it in a pet store.
ReplyDeleteyour pal,
Garth
Thanks again Garth!
DeleteNice one! Garth is so kind. Have a terrific Thursday.
ReplyDeleteBest wishes Molly
might have to check those out for Dakota. I never knew that Purina is the company that makes them!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations...my dog wants to know if your dog shares! LOL
ReplyDeleteLol, unfortunately she's not much of a sharer... she won't even return things I throw for her to fetch.
DeleteLucky Shiner! I am glad she loved her Frosty Paws :D They sound delicious!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE Frosty Paws! I also won coupons and the stuffed animal over at http://rumpydog.com. Mom only lets me lick out of the cup, a little each day, so I don't become a fat dog with a tiny head. Sometimes, Mom makes me homemade frozen treats out of yogurt, peanut butter, bananas, and honey. They are yummy. I also eat goose poop.
ReplyDeleteLove and licks,
Cupcake
Shiner's kinda the opposite. She has a fat head on a little body lol!
DeleteHey it's Jet here. Hi Miss Ann.
ReplyDeleteGuess what? I recently won a Frosty paws pack like you...and... Mom couldn't find it either... then she did, phew... We had a similar yummy experience... how cool! Also, my friend, Gizmo, shared his homemade version, Mom will email you. :)
Wow! What a great gift to win! It sure looks like Shiner enjoyed those Frosty Paws. I don't think we can get them here in Canada.
ReplyDeleteThat was so nice of Garth, we have seen quite a few Frosy Paws on the blog :) xx00xx
