I was at The Doggie Stylish Blog and saw this DIY Pattern to knit a sweater for your guinea pig. I'm not sure how many guinea pigs like the idea of wearing a garish (VBP) sweater. I'm sure guinea pigs everywhere are ready to trounce (VBP) their owners for even thinking of taking up knitting.
So I'm curious to know if anyone out there is a knitter. If you are, would you or have you ever knitted anything for your pet?
yes I once knitted Speedy a scarf as Lorna from Fuzzy Creatures wrote a story about Speedy and a scarf then everybody said I had to to finish the tale so I did but I am not really a knitter,xxRachel
ReplyDeleteYou're so crafty Rachel!
DeleteWoof! Woof! So cute. one of our friend made one for their Guinea Pig too ... did not realized it is common. Lots of Golden Woofs, Sugar
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure how common it is. I don't think I've ever seen a guinea pig wearing any clothes in real life before.
DeleteHmmm, Vocabulary Building Blog Hop. I am interested since learning new new things is never a bad thing.
ReplyDeleteI wondered about the Guinea Pig sweater, too. But hey, who doesn't appreciate an extra layer when it's cold outside?
I love the blog hop! It's so fun and I love building my vocabulary and learning new words.
DeleteAwww what a cute Guinea Pig!!! I had one when I was younger. We called him Mr.Pig. Mom wasn't in to knitting then, I'm sure he would have liked it though.
ReplyDeleteThat is so cute. Have a super knitting Saturday.
ReplyDeleteBest wishes Molly
That is cute. My Nana tried to teach me to knit years ago, but I didn't have the talent. My sister does and so does my mom. I guess I am missing the gene!
ReplyDeleteHave a great Saturday.
My mother crochets and my grandma does just about any sewing related craft that there is. She can do some pretty amazing things.
DeleteI looks cute, wish someone of my crib could knit too, but they have only left hands and 10 thumbs ;o)
ReplyDeleteThat is soooooo cute! We have no knitters here.
ReplyDeleteAaawww...that's so adorable!!
ReplyDeleteThat guinea pig sweater is killing me. It's so cute! I have a friend who knits, so I don't have to learn. She has knitted me scarves, which I have LOANED to Cupcake.
ReplyDeleteI hope that Cupcake returned them in good condition!
DeleteOh no. We would NEVER let mommy knit us anything - at ALL. *shudder*
ReplyDeleteLol - I think you kitties might look cute in a nice knitted sweater. ;)
DeleteFank dog my mom can't knit..BOL he does look cute though :) xx00xx

Hi Ann...don't know if you've ever seen Puppy the Guinea Pig and his large family, but thought you'd enjoy meeting them:

Oh no I've never seen them before! They are all so cute, and you're right it's a very large guinea pig family!
DeleteI don't knit anymore, but I did when I was younger. Sasha does not like clothes, so even if I made it, she wouldn't wear it. I agree with you, that the guinea pig would probably prefer not to wear a sweater.
ReplyDeleteAnne and Sasha
Too bad Sasha doesn't like to wear clothes. I don't blame her though, she's got a nice warm and beautiful coat anyways!
DeleteI'm definitely not a knitter so no advice to offer there but that picture is so precious!
ReplyDeleteI'd never wear anything, so no point mom trying ;)
ReplyDeleteCotton
I'm not a knitter, but I crochet a jacket for my cat once, when I was little. She didn't liked it at all, maybe she didn't like the colour :D
ReplyDeleteLong ago I knit a sweater for my sister's 3 month old cat. I was a kid and really proud of it until she put it on her cat and the cat just fell over flat on her side. That was the end of that.
ReplyDeleteOh my! It must have taken some time and patience to the human who knitted this little thing!
ReplyDeleteMy human is not knitter (no patience) and we would never allow her to put clothes on us ;-)
Another great pawticipation of yours. Thanks!
Purrs
Wow what an obedient guinea pig!
ReplyDeleteOink oink.
Katie and Coccolino the mini pig
Aw, that little guinea pig looks nice and toasty!
ReplyDeleteMy mom knits. She thought about knitting a sweater for me, but I stretched out the knit sweater she bought me so it looks like a sweater dress :) Maybe she will make me one of those little neck warmers though?
BOL that's so cute.
ReplyDeleteLuckily mummy can't knit!
My human has no idea how to knit but I sure know how to chew knit wear! *waggy tail*
