Top 10 Most Dog Friendly U.S. Cities

I found this infographic the other day and just knew that Austin, TX had to be on the list. And it most certainly is! I am from Austin, TX and it happens to be the 3rd most dog friendly city in the United States! Austinites love two things the most - music and dogs!

I know a couple of my blogging friends live in some of the other cities listed as well!

Lulu and her mom Christie from Life With Beagle live in Orlando and they write about a lot of interesting things that go on there. Gizmo from Terrier Torrent lives near Orlando too and he always has a lot of exciting adventures around the area. Athena from Pitlandia lives in Portland where she gets to live the pampered pooch life!

Anyone else live in any of these cities? Would you agree that they are dog friendly places?

  1. I live about 30 mins away from SF and Domeek lived there for years...but I never really understand why it ranks so high on the dog friendly lists. I've never found SF incredibly pet friendly...they have outdoor cafes like most cities and have dog parks like everywhere, yes it is a walking city, but that's about it. :-/

  2. Woof! Woof! We saw this infographic in FB. My hometown CHICAGO made it on the list (so true and missing it so much but not for long ...). My mom have been in Colorado, Seattle, New York, San Diego, Orlando and San Francisco ... the list is accurate. Golden Thanks for sharing. Lots of Golden Woofs, Sugar

  3. Wow, I know my city would never make this list, but I'm surprised my in-laws city didn't make it. They're in Black Mountain, NC (close to Asheville). I was able to take my larger dog Bender into almost every store, and even ate at a fancy bistro (something we're not used to!).

    1. I bet you're tired of hearing of Disney lol... I did think it was pretty cool that Disney had a boarding place for dogs though.

  12. Lucky Athena! Mom and dad have talked about moving to Portland one day...I am keeping my paws crossed :)

For now I live kind of close to San Diego. I guess it must be pretty dog friendly because there are a lot of cool places we can go on walks and hikes and there is even a cafe where I am allowed to sit on the couch!

  18. That is a great list. That must have taken quite a bit of research to make up that list. We are not on the list but I am not surprised. Thanks for the info.

  20. Hey! We are in Round Rock.....which is almost Austin, but much too conservative and not nearly weird enough! My dear David and I live with Roxie, our 3rd rescued black cocker spaniel. She was flown to Austin from Midland by Pilots N Paws, a non profit, just for us. And yes, Austin is VERY dog friendly!
