Backdoor Friends Purebred Cat Rescue is a non-profit 501(c)(3) corporation that is "no-kill". They have been around helping kitties since 1998. While their name states that they are a purebred cat rescue, they help other non-purebred cats as well. The rescue has several foster parents where the cats can stay until they are ready for adoption and find new forever homes. All cats are vaccinated and fully vetted before going to their new homes. Kittens who are adopted under 6 months of age are offered a rebate upon their spay/neuter procedure.
All of the funds that everyone helped raised are specifically going to a special kitty named Rory. Stephanie recently shared Rory's story (you can read it here). Not long ago, Rory had an accident in which he broke leg. Fortunately, a veterinarian was able to fix his leg, but orthopedic surgeries can be very expensive. The procedure was $3000. He's doing well after his surgery and currently stays with his foster mom, but he is still looking for his forever home. He is expected to make a full recovery from the broken leg.
