Hi everyone - welcome to Social Pet Saturday. This week, I've got lots of cute stuff from our small furry friends that I think you'll enjoy. Plus some other goodies! If you haven't read some of the things mentioned below, be sure to check them out!
- Winter and Rocco are two super adorable Roborovski hamsters from the blog Unexpected Hamsters. Earlier this week, they shared a video of themselves running super fast on their saucer - you just have to see it to know how crazy fast these little cuties run.
- So I'm sure you've heard this at least once this summer - "Don't leave your dog out in the sun!" Well, the guinea pigs over at Hutch a Good Life want to make sure guinea pigs get the same kind of treatment. They shared some great advice about guinea pigs and hot weather because many guinea pigs like to go out in hutches during warmer months.
- Our friend Molly the Wally dedicated a post to us this week. A suit of guinea pig armor is selling for 5 figures online. Check out Molly's post to see just how much money. Of course, it's all for a good cause. I would love one of these for Nibblet!
- Over at Cat Wisdom 101 there was an awesome post about what to expect when you take your cat in to the vet for anesthetic procedures. For anyone who's curious to know what exactly goes on behind the scenes, I advise you to read it. It's written by Georgia Barbush from Peach Industries.
- Forever Home Wanted shared an adoptable kitty named Baby Doll from Greenville, SC. Poor Baby Doll got left with her foster mom, forgotten by her original rescue group. She is staying with our good friend Marg from Marg's Animals. If you or someone you know would like to adopt sweet Baby Doll, I know she would just love you forever!
- Shiner won a pair of cute earring from #NipClub Monthly. She's been attending the #NipClub pawties lately and this was her first prize. They are from @GemmasLittleGem and you can visit their online store here - there is lots of cute stuff!
- Have you entered to win 3 free bags of World's Best Cat Litter yet? If not, the giveaway is still happening - good luck!
That's it for this weekend. Stay tuned in the upcoming weeks for some more fun stuff! And stay cool this weekend - it's hot out there!

ReplyDeleteTW is laughing so hard at that video that she almost fell off the chair. Then she had Pop laughing at it. She didn't think little feet could go that fast.
ReplyDeleteI wish there was a way to see how many miles per hour they are running.

DeleteThat is great picture of the hamster. Hamsters really are cute. We have never had one but they look like fun.
ReplyDeleteBaby Doll sure does thank you so much for putting the word out about her. She really is a nice cat. Hope all of you have a great day.
Guinea pigs rock!
ReplyDeleteYou know, I've never thought about how heat affects other pets besides cats and dogs (what we have in our home). Good to know.
ReplyDeleteThanks for all the great links; I'm hiding from the sun and need some reading material.
I've experienced firsthand how heat effects small mammals especially. Their temperatures are very touchy! They can also be extremely sensitive to cold weather as well.
DeleteHoly CAT that photo made us do a double take! Thanks for posting about Baby Doll!!
ReplyDeleteThat suit of armor cracks me up...lol.
ReplyDeleteHehe me too! I love it though!
DeleteVery cute :)
