Senior Pets Rock!

Let me start off today's post by saying that senior pets rock! Did you know that my dog, Shiner, is considered a senior pet? Yep - she's 10 years old but seems as young as ever to me.

This awesome infographic was created to celebrate Senior Pet Month that's going on over at BlogPaws. I particularly like this infographic because not only does it include dogs and cats, it includes other small animals like guinea pigs, ferrets, and rabbits. And you all know how fond I am of the little furries.

So, what do you think? Are senior pets awesome or what?!

  4. They get more and more mischievousness, when they're getting older. My dog, who was almost 18 when she left our planet, was still playing and she took all of us for a ride all the time.. My cat became very naughty, when she got older, as well as the hamsters. They say "there's no fool like an old fool," and Oh, how we love that :) Happy Pawkisses for the weekend :)

  6. I've never rescued a senior dog but have a few senior cats. Although they don't stay in our lives as long as we'd like, it's great to know that you finally gave them a chance. BTW, today is the 3 anniversary of my tom cat passing. Almost 2 weeks later, Titan happened! I still miss my Jaggar though. Such personality.

    Great post Ann!

    1. I've never rescued a senior dog either. Maybe one day. I did "help" a senior dog before. She was given up by her peeps and I took her to my family outings with me on Christmas Day so she wouldn't be alone. Honey Delite will be the first older pet I've ever taken in.

    1. Shiner says thank you! I can't believe she is 10 either. I'm not sure Shiner would do any knitting even if she knew how BOL

    anyway...good information :)

The last question is what worries me all the time, turtles have long live...what if they outlive me, who'll take care of them and love them as much as I do

  15. We love our seniors too....3 dogs and 2 cats. I wouldn't trade them for puppies or kittens any day. This is our first time having senior dogs, so we are trying to learn all we can. I was surprised to read that Shiner is 10, I never would have guessed that! She is doing great!

  16. I sure do love old dogs. I sometimes wish they could tell us of their wisdom.
