Shiner was recently asked by her new friend, Miss Rachel from Talia's Toys, if she'd like to try out a free upcycled dog toy made from t-shirts. Shiner of course never says no to a good toy opportunity. The toy is upcycled from t-shirts. Great for the dog and great for the environment.
I was quite impressed with the intricate braid on the dog toy! And I'm glad we got one of these too. Shiner loves rope toys, but always makes a big mess with them pulling out strings all over the carpet. Also, this toy is going to give me a good opportunity for a game I've been wanting to try with Shiner for quite some time now.
I have seen many dog parents take treats or bits of kibble and stuff or hide them in the nooks and crannies of toys just like this one. It's kind of like a puzzle in that your dog has to work for their food or treats. Shiner loves the toy without food, but I can just imagine how much more exciting adding some treats to it would be for her.
Miss Rachel was very nice and added some tasty treats and a thank you card with Shiner's package. Shiner couldn't wait to get playing!
If you'd like to check out Talia's Toys shop on Etsy, just click here. The toys are very affordable! They are also on Twitter @TaliasToys.
We received a dog toy at no charge from Talia's Toys.
that looks like a super durable toy and making them from t-shirts is a brilliant idea! (I have a great niece named Talia lol)
ReplyDeleteIt is actually very durable! The braids are very tight and Shiner the master destructor has not unraveled it yet.
DeleteThis is such a cool toy! I never thought to put some treats into a toy like that. What a great idea!
ReplyDeleteI love the idea of an upcycled toy! What a brilliant idea to make a "rope" tug toy from t-shirts. Very cool...and I am glad Shiner is enjoying it.

ReplyDeleteHarley is into treat toys. You gave me a great idea, when you decided to "stuff" treats in this toy. There are lot's of toys laying around here that I could stuff, and I will - Thanks!
ReplyDeleteVery cool toy Shiner! Love Dolly
ReplyDeleteThat does look like fun for any woofie. I'd probably like the dangly strings. he he m said she used to play tug of war with her doggie, and that would be good for that.
ReplyDeleteYes, definitely great for tug of war!
DeleteLove those type of toys and yes, we hide things in all our toys for Titan to play with :)
ReplyDeleteI really like these toys! I tried to make one from tshirts at home once and it simply wasn't secure enough!
ReplyDeleteVery cool upcycled toy. And of course Etsy sellers are great to work with (at least I like to think so)! :)

Looks good for tug a war, which my sisters like to play.
ReplyDeleteWhat a cool idea!
ReplyDeleteSuper cute toy! I sometimes make Maya and Pierson's toy. In fact, I've figured out that braid pattern and made a few rope toys from an old fleece blanket.
ReplyDeleteHey, my dog's gonna love that! I prefer to recycle most of the old stuff at home. It's always better to waste less than overfilling the garbage containers. It's quite a nice idea to make a toy for my dog out of old tees. Thank you for sharing!
