If your dog is anything like mine, that means they love their meat. Shiner isn't discriminatory against her meats. She'll eat just about any kind of meat, but one of the treats that she really loves is chicken jerky.
Of course, this means I have to be careful when choosing chicken jerky dog treats for her to eat. Not all chicken jerky dog treats are created equal, after all. That's why I was happy to recently be introduced to Spot Farms dog treats. The list of dog treats Spot Farms offers is long and they take pride in bringing dogs tasty treats that are made in the USA with human grade, all natural ingredients.
They sent Shiner a bag of their Chicken Jerky Serenity dog treats to try out. This is one taste test that Shiner couldn't wait to get started with. The jerky smells and looks delicious. Not just to the dog, but to me as well. Here's a little bit more about them:
- US Grown Chicken - Made with antiobiotic free chicken that is raised on farms in Kentucky.
- Grain Free - Contains no grains, wheat, or soy.
- Limited Ingredients - Chicken Breast, Dried Cane Molasses, Vinegar, L-Tryptophan, Dried Kale, Chamomile. That's it!
What I think is really cool about the Chicken Jerky Serenity dog treats is that they contain natural calming elements for dogs. L-Tryptophan and Chamomile can help relieve anxiety and have calming properties. Shiner doesn't have severe anxiety issues, but every now and then something will get her worked up.
A few weeks ago, we had a round of thunderstorms that left her sitting next to my desk all night staring at me with a concerned look on her face. I wish that I had these Sport Farms Chicken Jerky Serenity treats at that time. I think they would have been perfect for helping calm her nerves a little bit during the storms.
Shiner of course loves her new Spot Farms Chicken Jerky dog treats and thinks they are just as tasty as can be. She also got a kick out of the tennis ball they sent her and promptly removed all the green fuzz from it ASAP. I'm happy to have found some chicken jerky dog treats that I can feel good about giving to my dog. Plus, I like the added calming ingredients.
You can buy Spot Farms dog treats at retailers like Petco, Unleashed by Petco, and Wag.com. And for our Canadian friends, they are available at Pet Supplies Plus and Pet Supermarket. Be sure to look for them next time you're out shopping!
