Shiner's 12th Barkday

Yesterday, we celebrated a very special birthday! It was Shiner's 12th birthday. Yes, Shiner is a senior lady. I know it's hard to believe... she doesn't look (or act) a day over 3. ;)


For her birthday, Shiner first got a special meal. It was her normal food, mixed with chicken broth and a few treats on top. And as far as presents go, I let her destroy her Hippo Snail plush toy from her February PetBox. She had a lot of fun with that!

Later on that evening, I went out with the family to watch my daughter's choir performance at school. I came home, checked my computer, and learned that I am a Finalist in the 2015 BlogPaws Nose-to-Nose Awards! My blog post "How Important is Credibility" is a finalist for Best Written Pet Blog Post.


To be honest, I definitely was not expecting to be a Finalist in this category. The post is not my usual subject matter, but it's a topic that I felt strongly about when I wrote it. Perhaps it does pay to step outside of our comfort zones every now and then.

There are some excellent Finalists in all of the categories, and I can't wait to see who wins! Congratulations to my fellow bloggers who were nominated.

    Happy Birthday to Shiner! We had no idea she was 12! Paws up for many more youthful years! Also, congratulations on the finalist! We were shocked to see we are a finalist as well and in the category we are in. One never knows! Enjoy!

    I too stepped away from the computer - still frustrated with FB (that's another story) and when I returned and saw the email and looked at the finalist, I was tickled to doodle to see you listed.       Thank you Cathy! My daughter got sick yesterday (and still is) and then I got word of the award finalists and now I'm just trying to catch up! Ah! I don't have a good answer for you yet, but I will get to it!!
