Callie has enjoyed eating her new Hill's® Ideal Balance Crafted® slow cooked cat food for the past few months. During the process of sharing this food with you all here at the blog, I've been inspired more than I can say I ever have by something as simple as cat food.
Last month, I shared how Hill's Ideal Balance Crafted cat food is made. It's small batch, slow cooked, homemade style cat food. And just how am I inspired by a cat food, you ask?
I've always mostly enjoyed cooking. But in the past few months, I've really started trying new foods that I've put off trying for so long. One of the new foods I was inspired to finally try was quinoa, which is an ancient grain and one of the ingredients in some of the new Hill's Ideal Balance Crafted pet foods. I've made the recipe from this post quite a few times now. And while it may be difficult to convince my family that certain foods are tasty, I still personally enjoy it.
Cooking quinoa for dinner. |
I've been inspired to make more foods from scratch rather than from a box or can. I like to use fresh produce more often, and some of it I grow myself or gather from my family's nursery. I enjoy crafting my own new recipes to serve at dinner with these fresh ingredients too.
Our huge "tomato forest". |
Sometimes, I get lazy and don't feel like cooking. Thankfully, a new restaurant opened up near our home that serves food made with locally sourced ingredients. Their menu offers artisan crafted, homemade style entrees and breakfast foods. When I'm feeling lazy and don't want to cook dinner, this is our new go-to spot for eating out.
This type of care in the food that I put on our dinner table is just like the kind of care that the team of highly trained Hill's Ideal Balance Crafted Veterinary Nutritionists use to deliver ultimate nutrition in my cat's homemade style food. If I had the knowledge and time to do so myself, this is the quality of food I would want to produce for Callie.
Who says my inspiration from the new Hill's Ideal Balance Crafted cat food has to stop at cooking dinner? Perhaps next we'll try some arts and crafts. Callie suggests I start with this one:
You can find Hill's Ideal Balance Crafted food for cats and dogs at online retailers like Pet360 and Amazon, as well as in stores such as PetSmart and Petco. If you've already tried it, tell us what your dog or cat thought of it!
If you have not tried Hill's Ideal Balance Crafted pet food yet, here is a coupon for $7 OFF.
Do you cook for yourself, your family, or your pet? Tell us about your favorite homemade style recipes in the comments!
Oh, we love your tomato forest, Miss Ann! How wonderful that Callie is getting specially crafted food and you are now inspired to try new foods too!

Thanks Oz! There is a fake owl and snake in the tomato forest because some creature like to steal them. Have been meaning to share the tomato forest for a while now.
DeleteI have heard a lot Hills. I'm not that great at making foods from scratch LOL! I am much better with canned or boxed!!
ReplyDeleteღ husky hugz ღ frum our pack at Love is being owned by a husky!
Haha - I feel you Jenna. I used to make Hamburger helper for dinner all the time. My boyfriend "banned" that food once I started making more foods from scratch. He says they taste better. I think it just takes practice.
DeleteI need to get some of that, it sounds like a great food. I like to feed canned, but I have 2 that won't eat it so this would be a healthier option.
ReplyDeleteThey have canned food too!
DeleteGreat post! We're working on ours for Monday... hoping my "inspired by" project comes out half way decent. :)
ReplyDeleteAw - I'm sure that whatever it is, it will turn out! Can't wait to see!
DeleteMom and I both love to cook and bake, the problem is finding someone to eat all the stuff we make!
ReplyDeleteYea... sometimes I want to make food that no one else wants to eat... it is definitely not easy when there aren't people around to eat it!
DeleteWe think food made from scratch and good ingredients is much better than the packaged stuff. :)
