Did someone say Poultry Day? As in chicken, quail, turkey, duck, goose, and pheasant? Yep - it's National Poultry Day! If you're a dog or cat, try not to drool too much on the keyboard and enjoy these cute pictures of poultry.

ReplyDeleteAren't they? I think so too. The feathers on some of the pheasants are so pretty.

ReplyDeleteOh that's great, I had no clue. We will bring some snacks now to our 3 chicken :o)
ReplyDeleteAwesome Easy - didn't know you had chickens! Other than the costume you dressed up in ;)
DeleteI guess every dog (and chicken) has his day.
ReplyDeleteWow Ann, That California Quail is a gorgeous bird!! I would love to see one in person. I have friends here is the rural area that I live in and they have chickens...the everyday variety of Rhode Island Reds and a few other breeds, but I think the cutest one (although not extemely friendly) are their Guinea hens and roosters...but man are they mean!! One of my friends calls them her watch dogs...they raise such a stink when anything strange happens by the coop. Pretty soon here in Michigan we will begin to see all the goslings and Signets as we have a protected marshy area where the geese and swans nest...what a beautiful picture they make in early spring. We love to watch them mature throughtout the summer! Everyone have a great Poultry day!! Charmaine and all the kitties at Kitty Kanteen
ReplyDeleteI've met some guineas before, and I have to admit that I think they are kind of ugly lol. If you've ever met one up close and personal, they are also very stinky!
DeleteWe never knew that, pretty interesting!
ReplyDeletePiggy kisses,
Katie and Coccolino the mini pig
I never knew that!cool
ReplyDeleteI love chickens! Totally going to have chickens when I am older, I house-sat for my boyfriend's relatives once and getting fresh eggs from their chickens every morning was awesome :)
ReplyDeleteI'd love to have some chickens... I could probably manage some on the property that I live on now.
DeleteSuch beautiful pictures. The diversity of nature always amazes me. Happy Poultry Day! :)
ReplyDeletePoultry. Yum. The geese in my neighborhood leave me treats all the time. Mom always says, "NO!! That's disgusting! Don't you dare eat that!" But I do, sometimes - if I'm quick enough.
ReplyDeleteLove and licks,
Cupcake
Well, enjoy your goose presents today Cupckake but try not to over-indulge lol.
DeleteOh Cupcake, these goosie treats are sooo delicious! Why must our moms try to ruin the feast??
DeleteHappy Poultry Day... it's better granny doesn't tell you what I had for dinner. Pawkiss :D
ReplyDeleteI had no idea about today, but Happy Poultry Day everyone!
ReplyDeleteWe had two pheasants fighting in the front garden today. Austin was riveted!! Great pics :)
ReplyDeleteI've never seen a pheasant up close and personal. Lucky cat Austin!

ReplyDeleteWhoa! You better hope the Tabbies of Trout Town don't swing by! What happened to the peacock. I'm a Connoisseur of peacock feather.
ReplyDeleteYea, I thought about the peacock afterwards... not sure if it's considered "poultry" though. Got to meet a baby peacock once, was pretty cute.
