Something's a Little Fishy Around Here...

I have another pet to introduce everyone to today. Last weekend, we went to the carnival with the kids. We came home with a goldfish. My daughter insists on playing the goldfish carnival game. So everyone, meet Goldeen the goldfish.

Introducing Goldeen the Goldfish.
She's a pretty large goldfish and I hope to get her a better aquarium soon. This one came from a quick stop at the local Wal-mart. I threw all of my old aquariums out because I felt they were infected with ick. Any fish I put in them got it so I just disposed of them. It's been a few years since I've had a fish, but I really do love keeping them. Especially goldfish.

I got Lily (my daughter) a Black Moor Goldfish when she was much younger and she lived for a long time. Her name was Dori.

Dori, our Black Moor Goldfish.

In case you were wondering the inspiration behind my daughter's name for her new goldfish, it's a pokemon. Our Goldeen doesn't have a horn like the pokemon, but we still think she's pretty cute.

The inspiration behind our goldfish's name.

I also wanted to let you all know that I should be transferring Pawsitively Pets to a self-hosted WordPress site very soon. You may notice that this site will be reverted back to mypawsitivelypets.blogspot.com. Hoping everything goes smoothly!

  1. Goldeen is very pretty. I'd love to have a few fish, but I don't have a decent place to put an aquarium.

    1. I know, I would love to have a large aquarium but I also don't have a good place for one. I only have room for a small on that's probably only fit for one or 2 fish.

  2. :-D I completely see the similarities between the two Goldeens!! Nice name choice!! We don't do fish...they remind Domeek of dental offices! ;-) Hehehe! Good luck with the self hosting change over!

  17. Cute! When I was a teacher, we always had a goldfish or two in the classroom (along with a box turtle, a newt, a couple of fiddler crabs, a parakeet, some hermit crabs, and occasionally a hamster, some tadpoles till they turned to frogs, and caterpillars till they turned to butterflies).

  25. Hi Golden!! We hope you are enjoying your new home.

The last fishie we had was a white betta named Angel. Sadly, hers did not live very long. Hers was very pretty. Mommy wants to get a bigger/better fishie tank and get more fishes someday. We loves watching the fishes swim...Carmine even peaked over the side of the tank when mommy cleaned and changed the water in the tank! MOL.

  29. Again, I've learned something from you blog...I didn't know ick could stick around so long in an aquarium. I finally stopped keeping fish because of that too. Good luck with Goldeen! She's gorgeous and GOOD LUCK with the move!
