In the series, dogs came down from the Planet of the Dogs to help humans. In this volume, the dogs are back to save the day - Christmas, that is. When two of Santa's most important reindeer are kidnapped by the King of the North, will the dogs be able to help save them? I don't want to give away all the good parts, so you'll have to read it for yourself!
I think the dogs in the book have a lot of valuable lessons to teach children as well. Even though the King is not such a nice guy, they still show compassion for him in the end.
Snow Valley Heroes would be perfect to read aloud to younger children during the holiday season. Grade school and middle school aged children will enjoy reading this fantasty chapter book alone. It has a lot of action and will leave your kids on the edge of their seat, ready to read more. Of course, the book is also a good read for adults. I really enjoyed it and it put me in the holiday spirit.
The book also contains some wonderful illustrations by Stella McCarty. I know kids always love looking at pictures in books while reading.
The author of Snow Valley Heroes, Robert McCarty, has generously offered a copy of his book to one lucky Pawsitively Pets reader. The giveaway is open to everyone in the world and will end on November 30th at midnight CST.
