An Easy Solution to Pet Weight Loss | Enter to Win From #HillsPet

There's an epidemic of overweight dogs and overweight cats in the US right now. Did you know that 53% of dogs and 55% of cats in the US are considered overweight right now? That's more than half of the pet population. Unfortunately, these statistics are growing too.

In just the last 5 years, the number of overweight dogs has increased by almost 40%. Even more shocking is the increase of overweight cats in the last 5 years. The number of overweight cats in the last 5 years has increased by 90%.

Win Hill's Metabolic Weight Loss Solution for Dogs and Cats HillsPet

Why are these numbers growing so rapidly? Pet owners are after all more savvy about their pet's health these days. If you see your pet every day, sometimes it may be hard to notice if they've packed on a few extra pounds until someone else tells you. Which is one reason why it's important to visit a veterinarian on a regular basis.

And let's face it - saying "no" to those cute puppy dog eyes or a kitten's mews for treats can be difficult. Many pet owners show their love for their pets through food. Diets aren't fun. For the dogs, cats, or humans. I'm sure no pet owner wants to feel like they are starving their furry companions. When a weight loss diet for a pet fails, it's frustrating. Just like it is for humans. It's hard to get your paws on the right path again.

Wouldn't it be nice if there was a diet for dogs and cats that was easy to feed? Something that left your pet feeling full and satisfied until their next meal. Also, cats aren't the easiest pets to get to exercise sometimes. Just take a look at this cute and fun video called "One Big Kitty" by Hill's Pet Nutrition and you'll see what I mean.

Hill's Prescritpion Diet Metabolic Weight Loss Solution is an easy pet weight loss solution that does the things described above. This food will change the way you feel about putting your pet on a diet.

Hills Prescription Diet Metabolic Weight Loss Solution is clinically proven nutrition that activates metabolism naturally and regulates appetite. It changes your pet's weight by what you feed and not how you feed it. Meaning that if you slip up and feed your dog or cat dinner after your spouse already did earlier, it's OK. And if you have a multi-pet household, it's OK if your other pets eat this food too.

Hill's conducted a pretty cool study with the Metabolic Weight Loss Solution diet. They sent this food into 314 homes of ordinary pet owners. There were no strict feeding protocols and no precise measuring of food given to the pets. 88% of the pets lost weight within just 2 months. Don't just take my word for it though. 8 out of 10 pet owners say they would recommend this diet to a friend with an overweight dog or cat.

88% in home success with Hill's Metabolic Weight Loss Solution for pets #HillsPet

To make things more convenient, Hill's Prescription Diet Metabolic Weight Loss Solution is available for both dogs and cats in a dry kibble and canned food, as well as treats. The food is 100% guaranteed to taste good as well.

Because Hill's Prescription Diet Metabolic Weight Loss Solution is a prescrption diet, you must have your veterinarian's authorization before you can purchase this food. Your vet plays a vital role in your pet's health and that's why it's important that they be involved in your pet's weight loss plan.

  4. I was unpleasantly surprised when I took one of my dogs to the vet for a routine physical and found out he was way overweight. Sometimes it creeps up on you don't really notice. A few months later, I took him back and was happy to know he lost 12 pounds and looks wonderful. It was a combination of less food and paying attention to exercise. Actually, all of my dogs benefited from that. It's so important for your pets to be the right weight; there are so many health issues from being overweight. If there's a food that can help maintain the ideal weight, I'm all for it.

    1. Awesome that you were able to get him on the right track with his weight! Sometimes, it takes just some fresh eyes, like a vet's, to tell you how your dog or cat's weight is doing I think. We are just so used to seeing them all the time.

  6. We are lucky as we don't have a weight issue but she does keep her beady eye on me as she believes prevention is better than cure. Well done to all those who have shed the pounds and got fit.

    2. Agreed. Prevention is definitely the key. Our dear cat (Back in Junior High) got massive because we kept feeding that little bugger unhealthy snacks. Miss you Gucci. You will always be our princess *sighs*.

  7. Callie the Cat could benefit from this! We just had to buy a new litter box that was bigger for her. She is 8 years old and weighs about 20-25lbs. My mom's name is Brittany and our email is spencerthegoldendoodle@gamil.com. We have talked to our vet and they said that this would be a great to try for Callie.

    1. Not to steal Ann's thunder but I used my no longer with us cat Herb as an example about denial. I always joked he he was big boned or husky which is why he weighed 25lbs. 20lbs sounds a little heavy to me and at only 3 he my get even heavier. Dolly & The Lady www.dollythedoxie.com.

  12. It doesn't surprise me that half the pets are overweight when half the people are. It is still sad. I am lucky that both my dogs (and I) have stayed within our ideal body weights over this horrible winter. Wishing all the pets the best at trimming the extra fat away!

And I have cats that age. I would say she weighs about 20 pounds. I really don't know. But she is a big one. I'm thinking about a diet for her. 25. I would love, love, love to be able to do this for Annie. She's a 7-year-old cat. She weighs a little over 9 pounds but she's very small and should weigh 7 or 8 pounds. I have been trying portion control, counting calories, playing with her, etc., but so far no loss. I would definitely work with her vet on an ideal weight. Thanks so much for this article and opportunity!

  29. Hi Ann, I have 3 cats!! The kittens are 1 year 6 months. Circle is 1 year and 9 months old. All a over wight. The kittens are not as bad as Circle. Circle is probably 17 or 18 lbs now.. She is only months older then the kittens but she doesn't play much at all and never has. I think she has a sight problem. The kittens play much more then Circle does. I adopted Circle when she was 4 months old. I got the kittens from a friend who called up one day and said her son had found kittens undre a neighbor's porch. Would I take them ?? the mother was also found dead. She said the kittens were probably 3 or 4 weeks old. I said yes I would take them. The vets said they were maybe 2 eeks old at the most. I fed then with a bottle for 3 weeks. They do play a lot!! Turns out there are Bengals. My email is
    fern.reed@gmail.com Thank you.
