She lives in Vermont with her Mommy where she was adopted from the Franklin County Humane Society in August of 2013. Some of Truffles' favorite activities include napping and watching Bird TV. Truffles has a taste for fine cuisine and enjoys her favorite foods - Fancy Feast, Temptations and Wellness Kittles treats, chicken, and a taste of cheese or butter every now and then.
I wanted to know - what makes Truffles a Pawsome Pet? So I asked her. Here's what makes Truffles so special.
"I was adopted 5 weeks after the death of Mommy's beloved Angel Tara. Her life was devoted to Tara and a part of her heart went with her when she passed. Almost as difficult was adjusting to living without a kitty. It was unbearable, and she knew she wanted another tortie, because we’re such special little ladies.
She started looking at the adoptable cats on Petfinder from the same shelter that Tara was adopted from, hoping that another tortie from the same area might possibly be one of Tara’s descendants. I had been brought to the shelter by a nice lady who found me wandering around her summer camp.
The day my picture popped up she fell in love! We've been pretty much inseparable since the day I moved into my forever home. I hardly ever get into trouble and Mommy says I am a purr-fect kitty. I just know that we were meant to be together forever!"
It's no surprise that our pets have the special ability to comfort and help heal our hearts. Truffles' story is proof that it's true. In fact, Truffles claims that one of her special abilities is making her Mommy smile. Along with hacking up some monster hairballs...
"I make Mommy smile. Lately she's been going through a really rough time dealing with her parents' health and she has said many times that she doesn't know what she would do without me. I try to find a way to put a smile on her face every single day.
I am also a championship hairball hacker. Mommy can't believe the hairballs that I manage to produce with such short, fine fur MOL."Aside from being "pretty darn adorable", Truffles has a "sleek" and "soft" Tortie coat. She is a long, lean "purring machine". Apparently, her purrs must send out a lot of comfort to her Mommy. That's definitely the stuff of a Pawsome Pet.
Truffles has also trained her human how to speak cat. Perhaps she can write a book on how to train your human some day.
"I'm extremely vocal, as most torties are. During our time together Mommy has learned what each of my meows means, particularly when I demand swift clean up after I've used the little girl's room. I insist on a spotless litter pan and yell when I'm "done"...she says she has never heard a cat do that before."Special thanks to Miss Truffles for taking time from her busy busy bird watching schedule for this interview. I hope she didn't miss anything good!
If you'd like to keep up with Truffles, she shares a blog with her Mommy - Melissa's Mysteries, Mochas & Meows. She's also on Facebook, Twitter, and Pinterest. Stop by and congratulate her on being the Pawsome Pet of the Week!

Nice to meet you Truffles, I just love torti's! Did you know that there are rare incidences of male calico's and torti's and if so they are sterile? I've come across one male calico in my 25 years in the vet clinic. It's easy to look at calico's and torti's and know what sex you are going to have.
ReplyDeleteYea, very rare... I still don't think I ever got the chance to meet a male calico/tortie yet!
