One of Shiner's favorite parts of being a furry canine assistant to a Pet Blogger is tasting treats. Especially those of the meaty variety like Petcurean's brand new SPIKE™ dog treats. These treats have high content of premium quality proteins, antioxidants, and "superfoods" like chia, pomegranite, and kale. Shiner could care less about what's in the treats, but me being the parent I had to look into them a bit further.
Petcurean SPIKE Dog Treats are available in four varieties of jerky and they also have a tasty snack bar for dogs. But let's talk about the jerky first. With four jerky flavors, there is sure to be one that will please any picky pups out there.
- Grain Free Venison Jerky for Dogs
- Grain Free Turkey Jerky for Dogs
- Grain Free Catfish Jerky for Dogs
- Grain Free Duck Jerky for Dogs
All of them seem delicious, but the two that really grabbed my attention were the Catfish and Duck flavors. I've never given Shiner dog treats made with Catfish, so I was kind of excited about that. Also, Shiner is currently eating a mostly duck diet so the SPIKE Duck Jerky pairs well with that.
Shiner loves them all, and it's hard for me to tell which is her personal favorite. Here's a short video of her sampling each flavor for the first time. Which one do you think she likes the best?
OK, so the treats taste great, they have variety, and the dog loves them. What else is good with Petcurean's SPIKE Jerky Dog Treats?
- Contains only all natural ingredients
- Zero by-products
- No added growth hormones
- No artificial preservatives, flavors, or colors
- Grain free
- No gluten or glycerin
- Anti-oxidant rich
- Good for pets with food sensitivities
Also included in this line of dog treats is the Snack Bar for Dogs with Chicken Meal & Sweet Potato. The SPIKE Snack Bar for Dogs looks similar to a large granola bar for humans... only not exactly. It's very crunchy and seems like it would be a perfect snack to pack a long for a day out hiking, walking, or exploring. It's much easier to take along a Snack Bar than pack a whole treat bag for short trips. The SPIKE Snack Bar breaks into pieces easily.
I think the SPIKE Snack Bar for Dogs smells nice, like a cookie. It doesn't have much of a meaty smell to me. Shiner seemed to think it smelled divine and couldn't control herself while I was trying to take photos and video of it.
Petcurean is a Canadian company that produces high quality treats and food. You can follow Petcurean on Facebook and Twitter to stay up to date with them. If you'd like to find a store that carries Petcurean SPIKE Dog Treats, here's a handy store locator. You can also visit their website for more information AND I found coupons there too.
When do we eat? |
As for Petcurean's new SPIKE Dog Treats, Shiner gives them four paws up as do I! I even thought I heard her barking about planning a trip to Canada after trying all of these mouth-watering delicacies.

ReplyDeleteCatfish! That is new to us and we love venison. Good stuff!
ReplyDeleteOur dogs love the catfish. I pick up a bag every other month at our local pet store. It's a hit in our house. I'm going to try the venison next. Having dogs with protein allergies limits the treats we can buy so I'm excited that Petcurean came out with these recipes.
ReplyDeleteMy pups would like to try the venison because it looks healthy and tasty.
ReplyDeleteNala and Cody would love to try the Catfish. They love any type of fish treat so the Catfish would probably be a hit, though based on Shiner's reaction any of the treats will likely be great.
ReplyDeleteWe bet we would like the catfish ones!

ReplyDeleteVenison or Turkey! They'd love all of them, but little Wager doesn't tolerate duck too well, and I dislike the smell of fish treats. But Venison and Turkey are always winners around here.
