RatPak Monthly Box Subscription for Small Pets

If you have cats and dogs, you're probably familiar with the multitude of monthly subscription boxes that are available. However, if you have small pets like I do you might find that it's not as easy to find a monthly subscription box suited just for them.

A few weeks ago, I discovered RatPak. A friend asked if I knew about it. I was so excited when I learned that someone had started a monthly box subscription service just for pet rats and other similar small pets. Jack and Gus are equally as excited!

About RatPak Monthly Subscription Box for Small Pets

Like other monthly subscription boxes, RatPak is a box of mystery goodies that is delivered to your doorstep once a month. The contents of the box are a complete surprise, and you cannot pick and choose what to put in your box. This is my personal preference with subscription boxes for pets. I like surprises. RatPak includes treats, toys, and other goodies to keep your small pets happy.

First, you'll need to visit RatPak's website and sign up to begin receiving your monthly box. RatPak will ship your box out around the 21st of each month. My box arrived very quickly after it had been shipped.

When you sign up for RatPak, your account is automatically set up to a recurring subscription meaning you will continue to be billed each month and receive a RatPak. You can change your subscription settings at any time.

RatPak currently ships to the US, Canada, Australia, and the UK. Shipping prices vary depending on where you live. If you live somewhere else and are interested in signing up for RatPak, you can contact them for more information.

For more information about how RatPak works, you can visit their FAQ's page HERE

What's Inside Our RatPak

We received the very first RatPak to ship out in September. I couldn't wait to open it and see what was inside. I am not going to go into much detail about the products that were included, but here's a peek at what we got:

  • Sunseed Animalovens Apple Strudels treats
  • Peter's Dehydrated Apples
  • Brown's Tropical Carnival Baked Crisps treats
  • Critter Ware Tea Time Munches
  • Critter Ware Seagrass Twists
  • Kaytee Hanging Veggie Basket
  • Kaytee Night-E-Night Nesting Fluff

A nice variety of treats and chews, plus a cool toy and some fun nesting material that the boys will enjoy. The nice thing is that all of these items can also be used with other small pets like hamsters, mice, guinea pigs, chinchillas, rabbits, prairie dogs, and gerbils.

RatPak is, in my opinion, very appropriately priced. You can pay month-to-month for only $19.88 or you can choose to prepay for several months at once at a discounted price.

You can follow RatPak on Facebook for special offers and discount codes. They also have a monthly photo contest for a free RatPak. To learn how you can enter your pet rat in the Mouse of the Month contest, just CLICK HERE for more information.

  9. I don't want to win for me, but I know exactly who I want to gift this to. Shiloh and I recently got involved in the sport of Barn Hunt, where rats are placed in tubes and hidden in a course of hay. The safety of the rat is put above all else in this sport, and the rats used are loved pets who are clicker trained from an early age to enjoy being in the tubes and are comfortable with the dogs and lots of people. When not doing Barn Hunt, the rats are, again, cherished pets who enjoy great lives. There's one in particular who is "famous" in our barn hunt community, and everyone loves hearing stories about him (the best usually involve his insatiable love of pizza, lol). I'd love to gift this box to him!

    1. Kate - that is awesome! I recently heard about barn hunts and wanted to write a piece on it, regarding the rats that are involved. Mostly because I am curious myself and would like to learn more. Thanks for sharing this!

  11. I'm actually entering on behalf of my two guinea pig nieces. Olive was found wandering on the side of a NJ highway. So I especially think she deserves some special treats.

    1. Dear pig! I am glad she is safe now. A highway is not a good place for a poor piggy. Good luck Pamela!

  12. What a cool idea at a reasonable price. Lots of treats but only one toy? I guess rats don’t play as much as cats.

    1. I've tried to give them toys and things, but I guess their idea of a toy is a little different. They like to chew, so wooden chew items are kind of like toys for them. The nesting materials is also something they'd enjoy "playing" with.

  20. That's so awesome! There ARE tons of subscription services like this for cat & dog owners, but I've never seen one for small pets. I have 5 rats & 2 hamsters, so I would love to try this! :):)
