4 Tips to Help Your Cat Have Stress Free Holidays #CLUMPandSEAL

I know it already feels too early to talk about the holidays (at least for me) but they will be here before we know it. The holidays can be a stressful time for some cats (and their humans), but they don't have to be! The holidays are meant to be a fun and joyous time of year.

Callie loves the holidays. My family celebrates Christmas and she's goes wild for the Christmas tree. This year will be Roadside's first Christmas, so I'm not sure what to expect with him but I imagine he'll be up to a bit of mischief.

With "fun" and "stress free" in mind, we've come up with a list of a few ways that can help you and your cat have a stress free and safe holiday season.

Careful With Your Candles

Cats are curious creatures, and a candle is sure to entice them. While you may love it when your home smells like pumpkin spice, remember your cat's safety. Keep candles out of their reach or use bulbs instead and avoid the flame altogether.

Watch What Your Cat Eats

The holidays are filled with all kinds of delicious delicacies, many of which can be dangerous for cats to consume. Keep your sweets hidden! Don't let your cat overindulge on table food. And while humans may not find it very appetizing, tinsel and ribbon are dangerous items that many cats like to eat. If you have cats, you should probably skip the tinsel this time around and avoid any unwanted trips to the vet.

Limit the Scary Stuff

Decorations are fun, however some of them can be scary to cats. If your cat is scared of that creepy singing snowman or weird reindeer statue, maybe you should just put it away. Some cats stress out easier than others, so just try to keep yours as comfortable as possible.

Keep the Litter Box Fresh

With the holidays comes house guests. And because you don't want your home smelling like a giant litter box, you'll want to use a litter that destroys odors. My favorite litter is ARM & HAMMER CLUMP & SEAL and I've been using it in my own home for almost two years now. (You can read more in our previous post.) My favorite is the ARM & HAMMER CLUMP & SEAL for Multi-Cat households. The cats love it and never have a problem with it.

ARM & HAMMER CLUMP & SEAL is the biggest advancement in cat litter history. No other litter forms a tight seal around odor and destroys it with unique odor eliminators and baking soda. Even after scooping, bacterial odor can still keep growing. The innovative new MicroGuard technology seals and destroys immediate odor, plus prevents the growth of future bacterial odor. If you give ARM & HAMMER CLUMP & SEAL cat litter 7 days, you'll experience an odor free home this holiday season - guaranteed.

So if you're out picking up some goodies for your cats at PetSmart this holiday season, be sure to stop by the cat litter aisle and grab some ARM & HAMMER CLUMP & SEAL too. Here's a store locator to help you find a PetSmart store that carries ARM & HAMMER CLUMP & SEAL cat litter near you.

  10. Thank you for mentioning candles! My cats always try to sniff the flame. We've decided that we can't have real candles unless they can go inside a hurricane glass so the flame isn't accessible. The cat litter sounds great too! A stinky litter box definitely is not a great Christmas decoration.
